ISLAMABAD: The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Islamabad Police on Monday arrested a drug peddler and recovered a kilogramme heroin from him.

A police spokesperson said that they received a tip-off that a man was peddling drugs in Dhok Khokhran. Acting on the information, SSP-Operations Sajid Kiani tasked SP-Investigation Hassan Iqbal to track down the drug peddler.

Subsequently, a team headed by Inspector Haider Ali and including ASI Muhammad Akram Ranjha and others raided known hideouts in Dhok Khokhran.

They nabbed a suspected drug peddler identified as Ilyas, also known as Ilyasa, a resident of Chungi number 26, Golra.

The police team claimed that they had recovered 1.03 kilogrammes of heroin from Ilyas.
