Justice served: Court convicts two in murder case

Accused Sulaiman and Saifullah had killed Shahnawaz over a dispute

DERA GHAZI KHAN: A court awarded life imprisonment to an accused while seven-year jail term to his accomplice in a murder case on Thursday. The judgment was announced by Additional District and Session Judge Majid Kareem Farooq.

The prosecution told the court that accused Sulaiman, Saifullah and others had killed Shahnawaz over a dispute. However, the police arrested them and registered an FIR 13/139 against them.

The police produced the accused before the court where they were found guilty of the murder. After hearing witnesses and analysing the evidence, the court awarded life term to Sulaiman and seven-year jail term to Saifullah.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs100,000 on the accused that would be paid to the heirs of the victims.

However, the judge acquitted others due to lack of evidence.
