GILGIT: A three days anti-polio campaign started in seven high-risk districts of Gilgit-Baltistan on Monday. An official of the Expanded Programme for Immunisation said the campaign was kicked off in Gilgit, Diamer, Skirdu, Astore, Nagir and Hunza amid tight security arrangements. During the campaign, as many as 193,900 children under five years of age would be vaccinated for which 841 mobile teams were formed. Following detection of a polio case in Diamer, he said, an emergency campaign has been started again to make G-B a polio-free region.
