ISPR says both the terrorists belonged to the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Sajna group

A 'high-value terrorist', along with his accomplice, affiliated with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Sajna group were killed when security forces carried out an operation near Jandola, South Waziristan, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.

According to the ISPR, Mehmoodul Hassan alias Khawaja Madni and his accomplice were killed during the operation.

During the raid, which was a part of Operation Raddul Fasaad, security personnel recovered weapons and ammunition buried in a cave in the terrorist hideout.

Operation Raddul Fasaad was launched by the Pakistan Army last month following a spate of terror attacks in the country, which claimed more than a hundred lives and left hundreds others injured.

The Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan also carried out intelligence-based operations in Talli and Sibbi areas of the province.

Weapons and ammunition recovered included SMGs, pistols, hand grenades, rifles, RPG rockets, anti-tank and anti-personal mines and 10 kilogrammes of explosive.

On Thursday, security forces apprehended as many as 57 suspects, including 21 Afghan nationals in fresh raids across Punjab.

Search and OBIs were also conducted by Punjab Rangers in Attock, Islamabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Sheikhupura, Lahore, DG Khan, Rahimyar Khan and Rajanpur, according to the ISPR.
