Ronaldinho pays tribute to Afridi ahead of Pakistan visit

A get together seems to be in order when the Brazilian visits Pakistan

Legendary footballer Ronaldinho last week sent Pakistan's sports fans into a frenzy by announcing in a video message that he will be visiting the country soon.

Soon after his announcement, Pakistan cricket legend Shahid Afridi took to Twitter to welcome the Brazilian World Cup winner's decision of coming to Pakistan.

Ronaldinho soon responded to Boom Boom's tweet, saying:

National footballers ecstatic over Ronaldinho’s visit

"Happy by the words [of] Shahid Afridi BOOM BOOM cricket hero from Pakistan. I look forward to my visit to Pakistan in July," was the meaning of former Barca star's tweet.

Afridi again tweeted, hinting that he might want to rope Ronaldinho in for his charity work during his visit.

Without a club since leaving Fluminense in 2015, Ronaldinho has upped his charity and promotional activities in the last few years.

His visit to Pakistan, where he is expected to play an exhibition seven-a-side match, is being managed by UK-based Leisure Leagues.

Former Dutch midfielder George Boateng and ex-England goalkeeper David James are some of the other names rumoured to join Ronaldinho on his tour to Pakistan.

Syedpk | 7 years ago | Reply @Ravian, The difference is that Ronaldino didnt study English for 10 to 12 years in school like us. If after that long you are unable to speak, then there is something wrong with your learning capability.

Ravian | 7 years ago | Reply Ronaldinho can't speak English.............. How is he surviving?? Because in Pakistan we think that English is lifeline to survive at the international level. We scoff at our sportsmen who are unable to speak English.............

Ali Hassan Bokhari | 7 years ago | Reply @Amjad: Agreed but its the thought that counts that he bothered (or his PR agent) to look up the country he would be visiting and yes he is a much bigger deal then all our current sports stars combined (minus some cricketing legends). This story is merely to get some much needed traction, the purpose is good. From one cynic to another, let this be, the people need it even if its temporary and fleeting hope/distraction from the daily drudgery is what a kid may be banking on instead of taking on a downwards spiral towards a life of crime.
