ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Nursing Council has decided to launch an online pre-registration system for aspiring nurses.

The system has been launched special directions from the Minister National Health Services Saira Afzal Tarar. Through the system, data of nursing students taking admissions in more than 500 nursing schools and colleges would be computerised and secured.

The computerised records would not only help the PNC to keep a check on the sanctioned induction limit allotted to these nursing schools and colleges but also help cope with bogus enrollments made by some recognised and unrecognised institutions in time.

This system will also facilitate nursing professionals to easily get their registration cards after they graduate.

To create awareness among institutions about the newly launched pre-registration system, the health ministry said that a series of training sessions have been devised and nominated officials from nursing institutions are being trained. These training sessions will be completed within three months.
