Unboxing the new OPPO A57

Popular smartphone manufacturer OPPO have released a new camera phone OPPO A57.

We unboxed this phone for the first time to better analyse and dissect its features.

The OPPO A57 sells as a "camera phone" because of its superior camera capabilities. The smartphone has a 16MP front facing camera capable of 1080p performance, while the back facing primary camera comes in at 13MP rounding out the entire device with 3GB RAM.



On the bottom of the device exists a headphone jack and charging slot. On the right, the power button and on the left side we have volume rockers, all fitting in smoothly, giving the phone a rather sleek feel to it.


The most important thing we receive in the box is undoubtedly the small but helpful SIM ejector tool.



An added bonus to protect your precious new phone is a silicone back cover that is included in the box. Further, in the box we find two user manuals to help you get started and a high quality, branded charger with a USB B slot.



Analysing the camera

The most important part of unboxing a phone that sells itself as a ‘camera phone’ is obviously the picture test. A picture was taken, which was the perfect level of brightness and dullness, upon taking the picture, a myriad of options pop up, allowing your freshly taken snap to be edited it in whatever way you want.



The OPPO A57 has a 16mp front facing camera which has been the hallmark of OPPO phones as seen before in the F1 S and the F1 Plus. This camera has received numerous plaudits by professionals in the field, because of its performance. It has a F/2.0 aperture and Beautify 4.0, a feature that further perfects every selfie taken. The phone also comes with the standard OPPO screen flash feature, which makes sure that even the darkest of rooms deliver the brightest of selfies. The camera interface also allows for every photo to be instantly shared with friends.



Beautify 4.0 has been further improved with the help and feedback of thousands of customers. This has helped OPPO introduce seven new levels to the feature allowing for a seamless and convenient editing experience.



The device also has an efficient ‘Bokeh effect’ feature that blurs the background of a picture, putting more focus on the subject.
