And look dapper while at it

All men, take note! It doesn’t matter if you’re up for it or not but it’s time to set your ankles free! Confused? Don’t be.

As demonstrated by Hollywood hotties Orlando Bloom and Aaron Paul, going sockless is a suave mood – even under your finest suit pants. It is, in fact, speedily becoming the hot new trend for men. According to GQ magazine, the two actors recently stepped out in tailored suits baring their ankles and looking, as expected, undeniably dapper.

This easy, breezy and casual look reminds us of designer Haider Ackermann’s Spring 2017 show which featured models in open shirts, cropped pant and pointy dress shoes worn without socks. The collection was inspired by young kids who “just want to dance and party and be happy,” which is exactly the mood the no-sock look conveys. It’s unprepared and spontaneous. What more would you want?

But be warned: there are some staples you need to nail to get the look right. Here’s what fashion experts recommend:

  • You must make sure every tailored item you have on isn’t slim-cut to the point of being tight. A loose shirt or relaxed suit will take the 2010 vibes right out of the bare-ankles look.

  • Go for black dress shoes instead of brown. We recommend this because black always feels more refined as compared to brown.

  • You can modernise the sockless look by sporting a slick hairdo. You may also keep it messy. Really, anything goes so long as it’s not that severely parted - think Salman Khan's Tere Naam look!

Once these three conditions are met, you may rest easy knowing you look like a Hollywood hunk.
