SHO suspended for harassing Pashtuns

Sukkur DIG has suspended an SHO and issued show-cause notices to four others for unnecessarily bothering Pashtuns during operations against illegal immigrants.

According to official sources, after receiving complaints from different quarters against some SHOS of district Khairpur for unnecessarily arresting and extorting bribes from Pashtuns during the operation against illegal immigrants.

B Section police station, Khairpur SHO Abdul Malik Bhutto has been suspended while show cause notices have been issued to the Ranipur SHO Bachal Qazi, Piryalo SHO Nisar Alam Odho, Pir Jo Goth SHO Muhammad Ali Bhutto and Ubhan Shah police post incharge head constable Ayub Bugti.

All the officials have been ordered to submit written replies within one week, failing which stern action will be taken against them. The above mentioned police officials were found involved in arresting Pashtuns and demanding bribes for their release. The DIG has warned all police officials to be careful during search operations against illegal immigrants, adding that any official found involved in bothering innocents will be taken to task.
