Emir of Qatar acknowledges Pakistan’s role in strengthening its armed forces

Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has acknowledged Pakistan’s role in developing and strengthening of their armed forces.

In a meeting with army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, who is an official visit to the middle-eastern country, the Qatari leader reiterated that both the countries shared a strong strategic relationship.

Sheikh Hamad Al Thani, the military’s media wing said on Wednesday, expressed desire for enhanced defence and security cooperation with Pakistan. “The Emir thanked COAS for visiting Qatar, which strengthens the bond between two brotherly countries and armed forces,” the communiqué raid.

He “acknowledged Pakistan’s positive role towards regional peace and stability, and commended successes of Pakistan Army in its campaign against terrorism and militancy”.

The army chief also expressed gratitude to the Emir for his hospitality, saying Pakistan Army looked forward to enhanced defence and security cooperation with Qatar.
