BB murder case: FIA seeks more time to arrest Musharraf

FIA says arrest warrants for former president have been received by the authorities in Britain.

The joint investigation team, probing the murder case of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, on Saturday, sought more time from the court, to arrest former President Pervez Musharraf.

During the hearing of the case, which took place at the Adiyala Jain in Rawalpindi, Public Prosecutor Chaudhry Zulfiqar requested the court to declare Musharraf a proclaimed offender.

He asked the court to indict arrested former City Police Officer (CPO) Saud Aziz, along with other suspects.


On the other hand, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) maintained that arrest warrants for the former president have been received by the authorities in Britain.

An FIA official said they were awaiting a reply from Britain and sought more time to proceed with the issue.

The court was adjourned till March 26, 2011.
