Customs foil smuggling bid at Karachi airport

Customs officials claimed to have foiled a smuggling bid by arresting a passenger at the Jinnah International Airport on Friday.
According to the Customs spokesperson, staff of the customs preventive posted at the airport intercepted a passenger, Siddiq, at the international departure lounge. Siddiq was to fly to Doha on a Qatar Airlines flight number QR 604.
Customs officials also recovered 950 grammes of crystal and 2.7 kilogrammes of hashish, which was hidden in Siddiq's briefcase. The recovered drugs are worth Rs10 million in the international market. A case was registered while further investigation is underway. Our correspondent
