Gulab Singh Parihar obtained offensive photographs, videos of the victim, and blackmailed her

An Indian army soldier has been booked by police in Indian Occupied Kashmir for blackmailing a girl after outraging her modesty in the territory's Ramban district.

Gulab Singh Parihar, posted in Kupwara district, allegedly outraged the victim’s modesty, and obtained her photographs, The Hindu reported. He then shot an offensive video, and sent her threatening text messages through different numbers, a senior police official said on Friday.

The army man allegedly demanded Rs500,000 in exchange for not uploading the photographs online, the officer said.

A formal case was registered after a complaint and an investigation is under way.
