LAHORE:
Routine life in Lahore will continue unhindered and the PSL final will not bring routine activity to a halt, said Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Thursday, dismissing concerns that the city will be put on a lockdown on March 5.

He was addressing a media gathering at the Chief Minister Office after a meeting to address apprehensions over the PSL event and racial profiling.

Assuring the people of smooth functioning, the minister said the Metro Bus service would continue functioning from 1pm till late night.

Buses would remain operational on all routes of the city whereas special modifications would be made in routes to make the Gaddafi stadium more accessible for cricket fans. Shuttle buses would also carry people from the parking lots to the stadium and vice versa.

Sanaullah said the parking arrangements and traffic plan would be announced by Friday (today). There will be ample food and beverages for the stadium-goers and price control will be ensured.

He said students of universities and colleges had been taken on board to provide guidance to the stadium-goers. Police have been instructed to ensure friendly behaviour towards cricket fans.

The minister added that speakers would be installed along the route to the stadium to keep the people informed.
