Rangers arrest eight suspects during raids in Karachi
Accused include political party worker and alleged militants

The paramilitary force claimed to have apprehended on Wednesday eight suspects, including members of the militant wing of a political party and banned outfits.
The alleged criminals were arrested by the Rangers during various raids in the city. The raids were conducted in parts of Super Market area of Liaquatabad, Saudabad area of Malir and Baldia Town areas including Saeedabad, Mawach Goth and Ittehad Town.
The arrested suspects include a political worker, identified as Muhammad Sami, and Hukum Khan Afghani, who is said to be affiliated with a banned outfit.
According to Rangers spokesperson, Sami is affiliated with Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London and has been involved in extortion and kidnapping cases. Afghani has been affiliated with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and was arrested from Saudabad area. He has been accused of being involved in cases of targeted killings, extortion and facilitation of the terrorists.
Rangers arrest 10 suspects during raids in Karachi
Four alleged street criminals, identified as Shahid, Rehman, Rasool Buksh and Rafiq, were taken into custody from Baldia Town. The spokesperson further said that two Afghan nationals were also arrested during the raids.
The spokesperson added that the suspects were handed over to the police, while the two illegal immigrants were handed over to the Federal Investigation Agency.
Crackdown against illegal immigrants
The Karachi police arrested on Wednesday over 100 illegal immigrants during the ongoing crackdown against illegal immigrants in the city. The suspects were arrested during raids and operations in all three zones of Karachi police.
While presiding over a meeting at his office a couple of days ago, Sindh IG Allah Dino Khawaja had ordered the police to speed up the crackdown against illegal immigrants across the province.
According to a police report, a total of 113 illegal immigrants were taken into custody during 78 raids while 54 cases were registered against them under the Foreign Act in various police stations of the city.
