ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has placed International Islamic University Islamabad in the W-category following a review by the commission’s quality assurance agency. According to a letter from HEC, the internal quality of the university was assessed by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) and using a score card system gave the varsity 87.67 per cent marks. The commission thus placed the varsity in the W-category.  This is the highest score ever obtained by the International Islamic University (IIUI) since a Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) was set up in the university. The IIUI Rector Dr Masoom Yasinzai and President Dr Ahmed Yousif Al Draiweesh thanked the HEC for its continuous support.
