KARACHI: A bomb hoax call created panic among public at a bank branch in Baloch Colony area of the metropolis on Friday. An unidentified person called the bank and warned the staff of a bomb blast.

A large contingent of law enforcers immediately reached the site and evacuated the multi-storey commercial building, Hussain Centre, while experts from the Bomb Disposal Squad were also called in at the site to search the building.

"An unidentified man called the Emaan Bank, which is situated inside a multi-storey building on Sharae Faisal near Baloch Colony, and warned the staff that soon there would be a bomb blast at their bank," said Tipu Sultan SHO Pervez Bhutto. "This happened at a time when most of the people at the building had already left the building to attend their Friday prayers while the rest of the people were made to evacuate the building after receiving the threat call."

The BDS thoroughly searched the entire building. However, the call turned out to be a hoax.
