Contraband seized: Cigarette shops, distributors raided in Abbottabad

The team visited different parts of Abbottabad and Havelian and recovered cigarettes which had been smuggled

PESHAWAR: A large haul of fake cigarettes was seized during raids in Abbottabad on Saturday.

A special team of the Abbottabad Regional Tax Office (RTO) comprising Deputy Commissioner In-land Revenue Malik Afzal, Inspectors Asif Tanoli, Faisal Sarfraz along with other officials raided different shops and distributors in the city and seized a large quantity of the contraband.

The team visited different parts of Abbottabad and Havelian and recovered cigarettes which had been smuggled. Moreover, they recovered forgeries of registered brands. Tax officials said that they will impose heavy fines and penalties in addition to filing cases with the police against those involved in distributing these cigarettes.
