UMT declared first drug-free campus
Punjab Higher Education Minister appreciated the UMT management to cultivate a drug-free environment at the university
LAHORE:
The University of Management and Technology (UMT) has been officially declared a drug-free campus by the Youth Councils for Anti-Narcotics (YOCFAN) and City District Government Lahore (CDGL) on Thursday.
After meeting the requirements set forth by the relevant agencies and government departments, the UMT has become the first Pakistani university to receive the status of drug-free campus in South Asia. Under the project for Drug Demand Reduction funded by the State Department, United States of America and being implemented as part of the Colombo Plan that aims at planning prosperity together in Asian region. Punjab Higher Education Minister Raza Ali Gillani appreciated the UMT management to cultivate a drug-free environment at the university.
