Maple Leaf posts profit of Rs1.47b

The company’s price closed at Rs128.59, down 0.25% from its last day’s closing price

KARACHI: Maple Leaf Cement Factory Limited (MLCFL) posted a net profit of Rs1.47 billion in the quarter ended December 31, 2016, down 2% compared with Rs1.5 billion in the same period last year, according to a company notice sent to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).

Earnings per share (EPS) remained at Rs2.79 compared with Rs2.84 in the period under review.  The company in the first six months (Jul-Dec) 2016-17 earned a net profit of Rs2.69 billion, up 15% compared with Rs2.34 billion in the same period last year.

The company’s price closed at Rs128.59, down 0.25% from its last day’s closing price while KSE-100 index closed at 49,588, up 374 points or 0.76% on Thursday.
