Ankle straps, gladiator sandals and fringe details are all the rage this season

LAHORE: It is said, if manners maketh the woman, shoes maketh the outfit. Recently, footwear has become the main focus of creativity in fashion, often eclipsing the clothes and giving bags a run for their money. And by the way, money was just the operative word, a pair of shoes could go up from $1,000 to $2,000 and that really takes some justifying.

Last season, lace boots paved the way as the ultimate foot/leg accessory and made a daring fashion statement. Ankle straps, gladiator sandals and fringe details teamed with gravity- defying heights have become insanely popular. Shoes this season sprout fur, jewels, lace and pom poms.

Aside from diamonds, we're pretty sure shoes are a woman's best friend. The right and bold shoe could spike a classic, or even a boring outfit. A statement shoe plays pivotal role in dressing up. This season there's less focus on embellishments and the limelight seems to be robbed by sculpted heels and pointed toes. Even suede is a budding trend this season. With seemingly endless options, it’s hard to amass a collection of shoes. A basic black pump in suede or leather is the ultimate go-to accessory; they pull together any outfit and add instant sophistication.

This season the luxe loafer appears to be the 'It' shoe. This menswear-inspired shoe has replaced the ballet flat as the quintessential run-around shoe. A basic black or a bright hue will do the trick when it comes to flats. Animal-print heels, snakeskin or leopard heels are popular this season.
