KARACHI: Six suspected militants were killed in an alleged encounter with the police on Thursday in the Malir area of Karachi. The terrorists suspected to be affiliated with al Qaeda were involved in the murder of law enforcers, bomb blasts and other activities, SSP Malir Rao Anwar said.

Acting on an intelligence tip-off, police raided the hideouts of the terrorists who were planning to carry out a terror attack in the city. SSP Anwar further said six terrorists were killed during the exchange of fire while two militants managed to escape. One of the terrorists killed was identified as Noor Afsar.
