Suggestions sought: Khattak forms panel on police pay scale
The committee has been directed to submit its report within 15 days
PESHAWAR:
In light of Inspector General of Police Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani’s recent letter, Pervez Khattak has constituted a special committee to upgrade the pay scale of the provincial police.
The committee, set up by the chief minister, will comprise Minister for Labour and Mineral Aneesa Zaib Tahir Khaili, Minister Finance Muzaffar Said, Advisor to CM for Information Mushtaq Ghani, Secretary Finance and Secretary Home and Tribal Affairs as its members and AIG Finance CPO as secretary of the committee.
The committee has been directed to submit its report within 15 days keeping in view the existing pay scale of constabulary and junior rank officers and deriving ideas from Punjab and Islamabad police shuhada packages.
It is pertinent to note that K-P police personnel are more vulnerable to militant violence than police officers of other provinces and are often targeted.
