SC summons Hamesh Khan on May 26

ISLAMABAD:
Supreme Court (SC) on Friday summoned Hamesh Khan, the former president of Bank of Punjab and the main accused in the Rs9 billion loan scam, on May 26.

During the case proceedings, the court ordered the relevant authorities to take Hamesh Khan to Chunba House in Lahore and he will be allowed to  access his lawyer.


The court also said that the NAB Director Investigation willl interrogate Hamesh Khan.

According to the NAB sources, Hamesh Khan was accused of abuse of power and sanctioning Rs9 billion in loans to Sheikh Afzal, the Chief Executive of Haris Steel Mills on fake identity cards.

A three member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry is hearing the petition of the Bank of Punjab against Haris Steel Mills.
