New facilities: ATH emergency department to get facelift

ABBOTTABAD:
A much-awaited facelift for the emergency department at Ayub Teaching Hospital Abbottabad has started, officials told The Express Tribune on Tuesday.

The hospital administration has started renovating the emergency department, which is expected to be completed next week.

The department would now have a pharmacy containing free medicines for patients, a  nursing station, and two rooms with 12 new beds, increasing the capacity from 20 to 32. Medical tests reports will be delivered online.


Sources further added that the new changes include a 24-hour on-call specialist service for emergencies.

ATH spokesperson Shafiqur Rehman confirmed the renovations, adding that it would cost Rs6.4 million.
