Helping hand: People donate blood for children with disorders

A large number of people, especially students, donated blood at the two-day donation camp established by Sukkur Blood and Drugs Donating Society near Allah Wali Mosque at Bunder Road in Sukkur on Sunday.
Religious scholar and prayer leader of Allah Wali Mosque, Mufti Abdul Bari, inaugurated the blood donation camp. He urged the people and students of the seminary to donate blood and said that saving one life is like saving entire humanity. He said that Sukkur Blood and Drugs Donating Society are working for children suffering with blood disorders and, therefore, it is everyone's duty to share their responsibility by donating blood.
The society is busy in a noble cause without any discrimination and free of charge, Bari said, adding that as a Muslim it is our duty to extend a helping hand for the noble cause. He encouraged the youth to donate blood from time to time and said that the blood collected at the camp will be utilised for the children who are suffering from various blood disorders and diseases.
On this occasion, Sukkur Blood and Drugs Donating Society president Dr Muhammad Naeem briefed Bari about the services his society is providing to the needy people and especially the children suffering from blood disorders. More than 1,000 children with blood disorders are registered with the society, Dr Naeem claimed. These children are provided healthy and fresh blood on weekly and fortnightly bases. He added that for regular supply of blood to these children, society needs blood donations.
