The Khyber-Pakhtunkwa Police got a makeover on Thursday with their official uniforms being replaced by new camouflage ones.
New uniforms were distributed amongst police personnel in a ceremony held at police lines.
DIG procurement Waqar Uddin Syed distributed the uniforms amongst the personnel from different districts of the province.
The standard of uniform reflects the professional spirit and commitment of the force and distinguishes it from others, the DIG said in his address to the participants.
Arms trafficking: Five held as large caches of guns, ammo seized
Recalling complaints from police personnel about the standard of uniform and its unavailability in open markets owing to security concern, the DIG informed the gathering that the Police Policy Board had decided to streamline the procedure and ensure provision of standardised uniforms to the force.
In this connection an MoU was signed with Pakistan Ordnance Factory, Wah Cantt, under which the factory will manufacture the same quality of uniform as it prepares for the army.
