Visit to secp: British delegation emphasises creation of closer ties  

Such visits are essential to build economic ties and bring the two countries closer to promote trade and investment

ISLAMABAD: A high level delegation, headed by City of London Lord Mayor Dr Andrew Parmley, visited the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) on Friday.

Welcoming the delegation, SECP Chairman Zafar Hijazi emphasised the close relations between the people and government of both countries.

He said that such visits were essential to build closer economic ties and bring the two countries closer to promote trade and investment.

Speaking on the occasion, Parmley reiterated importance of establishing closer ties. He appreciated the favourable business environment in Pakistan, adding that there were plenty of opportunities for investors.

He said that the improved security situation in the country is a good omen and needs to be highlighted in a forceful manner with international investors. The delegation was given a comprehensive briefing on the workings and achievements of the SECP.
