To mark International Customs Day, Pakistan Customs celebrated with a flag-hoisting ceremony and a parade at Customs House, where a seminar was held afterwards. The chief guest of the celebrations was Nasir Masroor, a customs member from the Federal Board of Revenue. He gave out appreciation certificates to the best performer officer. This was followed by the destruction of 85,749 bottles of liquor, 147,933 cans of beer, 9,672kg of charas, 5kg of heroin and other items, such as gutka. The event was attended by a large number of officials from various embassies, and representatives of the Anti-Narcotics Force, the Coast Guards and others. The Customs officials also gave a detailed briefing to the media.
