KARACHI: Low-cost housing schemes will be initiated in the metropolis soon, said Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) additional director-general Agha Maqsood Abbas. Speaking to media persons at Karachi Press Club on Thursday, he said a large portion of the residents of Karachi consist of poorly paid white-collar workers and provision of housing to them at reasonable cost is quite an issue. Abbas said that talks are being held with officials of the Association of Builders and Developers and SBCA has extended various incentives to the Abad members for the low-cost housing schemes. Abbas said there will be a one-window system which will also be online to facilitate people in the province.
