KARACHI:
After a delay of about seven months, University of Sindh finally has a vice-chancellor (VC), according to a notification issued by Governor House. Prof Dr Fateh Muhammad Burfat is the new VC for four years. The position fell vacant when former VC Prof Dr Abida Taherani died on June 1, 2016, in London. Since then, the position was handled by Prof Dr Siddique Kalhoro as acting VC. Meanwhile, the appointment of the KU VC has been on hold due to a controversy surrounding the marks of the candidates’ interview conducted by the search committee in August 2016.
