Stern warning: RPO directs officials to curb rampant street crime 

He further directed DSPs and the SHOs to increase patrolling in their respective areas

Police arrests 62 street criminals and nabbed over 600 beggars during its special campaign to control street crime.

RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Regional Police Officer Wisal Fakhar Sultan warned on Monday that strict departmental action would be taken against area deputy superintendents of police (DSP) and station house officers (SHOs) if they failed to curb rising street crime in the garrison city.

In a meeting held at RPO office, Raja expressed his annoyance over rampant street crimes. He directed City Police Officer Israr Ahmed Abbasi and SSP Operations Irfan Tariq to take immediate steps to curb street crimes.

He further directed DSPs and the SHOs to increase patrolling in their respective areas.

The RPO warned the officers that strict departmental action would be taken against DSPs and SHOs if heinous crimes continue to escalate in their respective areas. He further directed the divisional SPs to monitor patrolling of Mohafiz squads, snap checking, and checking of snooker clubs and hotels.

He said that he would again hold a meeting to review street crime next Monday.
