KARACHI: The University of Karachi (KU) now ranks at 569 among the ‘Top Universities of the World’, said the university spokesperson on Monday. KU was previously ranked at 600.

The faculty-wise ranking was done in the disciplines of life sciences, arts, humanities and social sciences. “It is a moment of immense pleasure that the university has been ranked at 569 by the Times Higher Education,” said KU vice-chancellor Prof Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui.

He congratulated both the teachers and the students who, he said, have played a vital role in achieving this goal. Dr Siddiqui has sent a letter of appreciation to all scholars in the university. With the same spirit, we will continue to promote research culture for the betterment of our country, he said.

Pakistani | 13 years ago | Reply The most recognized global ranking is the ARWU ranking (commonly known as the Shanghai ranking), published by the Shaghai Jia Tong University. Currently, there is no Pakistani University in their ranking lists. However, according to the HEC University Ranking, the Karachi University is among the top-ranked universities under the General category.
