LAHORE: In a bid to introduce e-policing on the district level, the Punjab Police have decided to induct technical supervisors to oversee and monitor online sections such as the roznamcha and FIR systems which were launched on January 1.

Chairing a video-link RPO conference at the Central Police Office on Tuesday, Punjab Inspector General of Police Mushtaq Sukhera said supervisors would be responsible for the maintenance of computer systems being used by the front desk and officials at police stations.

The IGP said the roznamcha and FIR systems had already been launched online from January 1. “Now it is the responsibility of the DPOs to monitor and supervise it, because the newly-introduced systems need appropriate monitoring,” he said.

“Moharrars and investigation officers should ensure that computerisation of police records is done in their presence to avoid any errors and save newly-inducted police station assistants from legal complications.”

All the regional and district police officers participated in the conference through video link, while Additional IGP Operations/Investigation Punjab Captain (retd) Arif Nawaz, Additional IGP Welfare and Finance Shoaib Dastgir, DIG IT Shahid.
