A spokesperson of Allied Hospital said 25-year-old Mehmood, hailing from Chiniot, swallowed poisonous pills and ended his life after an argument with his family over a domestic dispute. The body was handed over to the deceased’s family after legal formalities.
In another incident, a teenager motorcyclist was crushed to death in Sadar police station limits. The police said Asad Ashraf, 18, was riding a motorcycle when another motorbike coming from an opposite direction collided with him. As a result, Asad was killed on the spot. The police had registered a case and started investigation.
Meanwhile, the police claimed to have arrested 12 people over gambling charges from different parts of the city. The suspects were identified as Sheikh Imran, Tayyab alias Ali, Afzaal, Imran, Irfan and others. The police also raided Batala Colony and Nishatabad and nabbed four drug pushers.
