BA exams: Four imposters arrested

Four persons were caught red handed while attempting to sit the exam in the place of the real candidates

ABBOTTABAD: Four people including a woman were sent to jail on judicial remand after being arrested for impersonating candidates during Bachelor of Arts (BA) exams, police informed on Tuesday.

The Mirpur police said BA exams were under way across Hazara division and on Tuesday candidates from Abbottabad district were appear in a third-year English paper at Govt Commerce College, Abbottabad.

During surprise checking in the exam hall by Hazara University Examinations Deputy Controller Muhabat Khan, four persons including a woman were caught red handed while attempting to sit the exam in the place of the real candidates.

The officer later handed them over to the Mirpur police for legal action. Police identified the four impersonators as Saima, Suhail Khan, Mamnoonur Rasheed, and Asif.

They have been booked under the PPC for impersonation, fraud, forgery, and use of forged documents. Each of the charges carries a maximum sentence of seven years imprisonment.
