ISLAMABAD:
Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) will launch a road safety campaign on main roads of the city from Monday to implement the use of indicators while changing lanes and other such violations.
The ITP will start with a gradual approach of educating drivers on the use of indicators, blinking lights which they rarely use, resulting in number of accidents.
Following the week long campaign, the department will start issuing tickets to violators.
“The main objective of this road safety campaign is to control lane violations and ensure implementation on traffic rules like use of indicators before turning or changing lanes,” Traffic SSP Malik Matloob said.
The road safety campaign is part of a bigger plan to reduce road accidents and traffic jams, he said.
