Our future needs to be competitive in the global market

The list of the top 50 schools of Pakistan does not contain a single public school. The government should be ashamed about this and should take some onus. Students are our future. The majority of the Pakistani population is poor or middle class. They want to educate their children but government schools do not deliver effective output so how one can feel satisfaction and security? Many school buildings are in poor condition, teachers are ghosts and those who are visible are not providing quality education. Public school students are said to not have sharp minds, no interest in the English language and are unaware of new technology.
The government needs to keep a check on each and every school in terms of the conditions of their buildings, whether their students are comfortable with the limited facilities provided by the government, the performance of teachers, and curriculum to assess the quality of students being churned out. Our future needs to be competitive in the global market. The day our political big shots choose public schools for their children’s education, we will believe that public education has turned around.
