Singer-turned-televangelist Junaid Jamshed’s sons spoke on Thursday about their late father and the legacy he leaves behind, vowing to carry forward his mission.
Following Junaid’s funeral in Karachi, which was attended by thousands, his aggrieved sons, Taimoor, Babar and Saifullah, addressed the media, thanking everyone for their support over the past week.
“We should pray for the rest of the victims who lost their lives in the plane crash as well,” said Taimoor, the eldest of the brothers, urging people to mourn for all those were killed along with his father in the December 7 PIA crash.

The former Vital Signs front man was travelling from Chitral to Islamabad on PK-661 when it crashed near Abbottabad, killing all 48 people on board.
Taimoor recalled their relationship with their father, saying, “Abba was never aggressive with us, he never admonished us. But yes, he always used to impress on us the importance of regularly offering prayers”.

On being asked if any of his children aspired to take up singing, Taimoor said that would be akin to disrespecting the memory of their deceased father, who had abandoned his successful singing career at his peak in the early 2000s and opted to focus on religion instead. "My father left this world while working on great causes and I will never disrespect his memory by taking up singing,” he said.
“I request everyone to pray regularly. This is what my father did. He would always offer prayers, recite supplications and that’s why he received so much love from the people,” Taimoor concluded.
