BAHAWALPUR: The academic certificates of 12 nursing students have been found fake during an inquiry conducted under the directions of Bahawalpur Division Commissioner Saqib Zafar. The students got admission on fake documents. This was said by Bahawal Victoria Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Rao Javed Akhter on Wednesday.

He said we received a complaint in which it was stated that students admitted in a three years general nursing council session in October 2015, managed to get admissions on fake certificates and documents.

He added for the purpose, a three-member committee was constituted to probe the allegations. The medical superintendent maintained the committee checked the academic certificates of 45 nursing students which got admission on special reserved quota for Bahawalpur District. “The inquiry committee has so far found nine bogus Matriculation certificates and three fake FSc certificates that belonged to the nursing students,” he said.

Javed said the credentials were verified by Bahawalpur Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education. He pointed out the documents were recovered from Nursing School Principal Saneeta Yousuf.
