Women empowerment: 200 buffaloes distributed in rural areas

Two hundred women from rural areas were given top quality cows and buffaloes, worth millions of rupees, by the Insan Dost Social Organisation.
At a seminar to mark the distribution of the animals, Sahiwal Commissioner Babar Hayat Tarar said the government was taking effective steps to provide common people with the tools for social development. He was chief guest on the occasion.
Tarar said underprivileged rural women were given these cows and buffaloes on the orders of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to help them financially. He said the measure would enable them to earn a respectable livelihood.
Meanwhile, Livestock Director Dr Shahid Sajjad said he was taking effective steps to ensure better productivity of these animals so they yield more meat and milk. In the next phase, goats will also be given to the deserving people, he added.
Moreover, the commissioner appreciated the effective steps taken by Secretory for Livestock Naseem Sadiq.
