Plant diseases: Three-day congress to start on Dec 16  

The event aimed to address the issues of pests infecting crops, including pink boll worm, fruit fly and others

FAISALABAD: The Department of Entomology, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad will arrange a three-day International Entomological Congress from December 16.

The event aimed to address the issues of pests infecting crops, including pink boll worm, fruit fly and others.

The inaugural session will be presided over by Agriculture Secretary Muhammad Mahmood at 9:00 am while Punjab Agriculture Minister Muhammad Naeem Khan will chair the concluding session on Sunday at 12:00 pm. Scientists from USA, Turkey, China and Pakistan will share their experiences, researches and practices.

Meanwhile, Department of Entomology Chairperson Dr Jalal Arif said the congress will provide a platform to discuss and map out a strategy to decrease the impact of plant diseases. He said the participants would present the models and researches for crop production technology.
