PK-661: Flight attendant Sadaf Farooq laid to rest

She was buried in her hometown in Kallar Syedan

RAWALPINDI: Sadaf Farooq, a 32-year-old airhostess who died in Wednesday’s plane crash, was laid to rest in her ancestral village of Nothia Sharif in Kallar Syedan on Saturday.

Farooq was one of the five crew members and 42 passengers aboard Pakistan International Airlines flight PK-661 which crashed into a hillside in Havelian on Wednesday evening, killing all on board. The airhostess had joined the national flag carrier as a crew member around eight years ago. She left behind two minor children.

After her body was identified by her relatives, the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) handed her body over.

The body was taken to her village where a large number of people including PML-N MPA Qamarul Islam, former MPA Shaukat Mehmood Bhatti, local leader Shaukat Aziz Bhatti, Hafiz Suhail Ashraf Malik, Chairman UC Ghazanabad Tariq Yasin, Raja Safdar Kiyani, Chairman UC Shindot Zubair Kiyani, Assistant Commissioner Chaudhry Rabnawaz Khan Minhas, PIA official Muhammad Qasim, and Admin Officer Raja Zahid Iqbal attended her funeral.

Her mother had flown in from Australia to attend the funeral.

Sodomite | 8 years ago | Reply We are saddened by deaths of all the passengers on the flight. More so saddened when little children lose a mother. We pray for their souls.
