LAHORE: A woman has gone to court seeking a case against her husband for marrying another woman without her consent.

Petitioner Razia Bibi has claimed her husband named Sadiq Ali used to frequently quarrel with her over petty issues and all her efforts against the verbal abuse went in vain.

Over the past one month, the man started coming home late and sometimes did not even return for the night. When she started enquiring about it, one of her husband’s friends revealed Sadiq had married for the second time.

When Razia questioned her husband, he denied marrying another woman and instead thrashed her.

The woman sought help from the area SHO, but in vain. The additional district and sessions judge has sought comments from the Shahdra SHO on the petition.

The suspect got infuriated and badly thrashed her. She was saved by the neighbours.

The woman approached the area police station to register a case but the SHO did not entertain her.

She asked the court to direct the respondent SHO to register an FIR against the man for beating her up and threatening her with death.
