Dr Mukhtar stressed the need for improving quality of herbal and conventional medicines manufactured in Pakistan to maintain international standards and compete with international exporters.
LAHORE: Ten unlicensed herbal drug manufacturing units were sealed after a raid in Habibabad tehsil of Pattoki on Thursday.
During the raid eight suspects were arrested and machinery, raw material, prepared medicines and printing material worth millions of rupees were also confiscated.
The laboratories sealed included Ahmed Brothers Unani Lab, Japan Herbal Pharma, Master Unani Laboratories, MA Unani Laboratories, SA Herbal Pharama, Rashid Unani Laboratories and Al-Hayat Unani Dawakhana. Police have registered FIRs against the accused.
The raid was conducted by Chief Minister’s Task Force Chairman on Spurious/Substandard Medicines Khawaja
Imran Nazir.
Talking to reporters, Imran said a vigorous crackdown has been launched against the sellers of spurious and substandard medicines.
