‘The Acting Wheel’- a not-for-profit acting platform - was launched at The Second Floor (T2F) on Thursday. The driving force behind the concept are three acting enthusiasts, Khurram Suleman, Qutub Mulla and Nausheen Jivani.

The launch was attended by acting and theatre enthusiasts and those interested in creative expression.

The idea behind The Acting Wheel is to provide the acting enthusiasts of Karachi with an avenue to express themselves. It provides a platform for people who are passionate about acting to meet and act spontaneously.

This group particularly applies to acting devotees, who for personal or professional reasons, may not be able to pursue acting as a profession. In attendance on the evening of the launch was a wide mix of actors, some experienced and some just keen to try out a new creative experience. Scripts from popular American sit-coms ‘Friends’ and ‘How I Met Your Mother’ were acted out during the evening and were met by appreciation and applause.

“I always wanted to be part of a club where people could come and act spontaneously,” said co-founder Nausheen. “But I could not find one in Karachi so we decided to start one of our own!”

The club has a facebook group on www.facebook.com/theactingwheel with details about joining the group and its upcoming acting sessions and activities.
