MULTAN: A man thrashed his wife and his father-in-law for claiming alimony, said Yazman police.

Alimony is a legal obligation ordered by court to provide financial support to either wife or husband after the finalisation of divorce proceedings.

Khadim Hussain filed a case in the court, demanding monthly allowance for his daughter Farzana, who was tortured and thrown out of the house by her husband Mahboob Alam.

Hussain told the court However, when Alam received the court’s notice, he along with his brother Ayub and friends Javed, Shahzad and three others, broke into the house of Hussain. According to the police, they attacked Farzana, 33, and her father with axe.

Farzana’s relatives told the police, Alam left Farzana and her father in a critical condition. Subsequently, the injured were shifted to a hospital where their condition was stated to be out of danger.

Sodomite | 7 years ago | Reply This is straight case of attempted murder and all the assailants should be in prison awaiting trial. The courts need to see the violent event intentionally executed. Can't be condone even if police and state prosecutors can't get their story straight.
