Iranian Ambassador Mehdi Honardoost was the chief guest. In his address, he congratulated all stakeholders who actualised the project and expressed the hope that this will create a better understanding among the people of Pakistan about the cultural heritage of Iran. Pakistan is a cradle of history, culture and art, all of which have been beautifully showcased in the Heritage Museum, he said.
The Ambassador said that the Iranian Cultural Link Passage at the Lok Virsa museum has brought pre-Islamic, Post-Islamic and contemporary art and heritage to the museum in living shapes and colours.
The ambassador emphasised that doors of Iranian embassy shall remain open for anyone and everyone who wants to go for collaboration. He listed the exchange of films as an integral part of that cooperation in the coming years.
Earlier, Lok Virsa Executive Director Dr Fouzia Saeed noted that the Iranian Link Passage was created at the time of the inception of the museum, and has now been redesigned, improved and renovated by the Iranian Cultural Consulate in collaboration with Lok Virsa.
