A contempt of court petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court against Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for not appointing a new Director General of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The LHC chief justice had set aside appointment of Dr Javed Iqbal as DG EPA on October 26 for not being eligible for the post. The chief justice had directed the government to appoint a new incumbent strictly in accordance with the law. Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah would take up the petition on Friday (today).
