Panamagate scandal: Judiciary will decide case on merit: Qureshi

The PTI leader also bluntly admitted that his party had not availed the opportunity they had in Sindh

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf vice president Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Monday expressing faith in the judiciary and said the party believed that the Supreme Court will decide the Panamagate scandal on merit.

Speaking to the media in Karachi, the PTI leader clarified that their party invited all the opposition parties to join them but after receiving no response they were left with no choice but to act on their own.

“If the decision of the Supreme Court goes in the favour of the prime minister we will put forward our case to the public where we believe we have more than enough support,” he added.

In regards to foreign policy, the former foreign minister stated that Pakistan was in dire need to pay close attention to matters related to foreign affairs as relations with countries that were once close allies are in a chaotic situation.

Qureshi was of the view that unavailability of a foreign minister has caused issue for Pakistan.

The PTI leader said Pakistan had to bear the loss of lives and spent billions of dollars in the Afghan war but today it is not given any importance when the world talks about the future of Afghanistan and opening dialogue with the Afghan Taliban.

The PTI leader also bluntly admitted that his party had not availed the opportunity they had in Sindh, especially Karachi, adding that the current situation of the city provides a golden opportunity.
